The Kings Tavern was situated at 252 Kings Road.

This pub was formerly known as the Cap and Gown. It is directly opposite Reading College (not university). I studied there and my classmates and I were regulars. It had a basement bar and around 1980 it played loud music and had sit down Space Invaders machines. Now that students don’t drink alcohol as my generation it is not surprising the pub is now closed.
