The Earl Of Beaconsfield was situated on Station Road. It has now been demolished and replaced by a Waitrose supermarket. It was previously known as The Railway Hotel.

Rupert Walker	1974-1977	Only 30 minutes ago I was chatting with Stan ..(S Wynd) about those days in Beaconsfield where we all started the whole life experience thing. Rumours on the juke box, Richard behind the bar, pool table at 10p a game, Reading Festival. What a pub to grow up in.
Pippa (Philippa) Lang	1976-1981	Wow so many memories when Richard and his rubber hammer were in charge! Moggy, Paul Taylor, Paul ‘Hotdog’ Norveil, Paul Gill, Suzanne Nish, Dave Afghan… A lot of fun
Nick Lloyd	1972-1980	This quickly became my preferred alternative living room, under the watchful eyes of surrogate parents Gwen and Richard, not forgetting ‘good ’alf’ in the public bar. Juke box, pool room, no-one over the age of 35 other than those behind the bar. Unsurprisingly a lot went on there and I suppose it was inevitable that it would get shut down, for most of us it was just too good to be true.
