The Kings Head was situated on the High Street. This pub was present by 1827 when the publican was William Varney.
Its 1827 valuation shows it as a freehold public house, occupied by William Varney, with an open stable for six horses, coachhouse with a loft over, stabling for ten horses, small pightle and garden, containing together about ½ an acre and 14½ acres of meadowland.
