The Cedars was situated on Cedar Avenue. This
pub was demolished in 2004 and replaced by residential accomodation. |

This pub was renamed The Ninepins by the time it
had closed in 2003.
Additionally, there was a bit of minor local scandal back in 2001 over the
new owners fining scheme and a call for a boycott. Don't really remember if
that was related to the closure and selling off for flats, more likely the
pubco owners realised the property values were high with a very good school
just further along Cedar Avenue. |

My Dad ran this pub for a while, I have great memories there. He somehow
went from pub to pub running them (from what I saw) amazingly and
bringing such fun to them, I was shocked to see this has become a
housing estate since as I wasn’t from the area. He died in 2022 and I
had this on my list of pubs to visit. I wonder why this closed down, as
when he ran it it was packed from start to finish. |
