The Dog & Pheasant was situated at 451 Newmarket Road. This pub closed in 1993.  Initially it was used as a restaurant – it has now been extended and modernised and provides hostel accommodation.

Lori Merritt	1973	For graduation my father sent me to Cherry Hinton, Cambridge to visit family. My grandmother's family owned The Oak. While in Cambridge my friend and I visited The Dog and Pheasant every night. We were 18! The owners name was Peter. There was a backroom we would go into after hours.
