The George IV was situated at the south corner
of East Road and Staffordshire Street. An Irish lady by the name of Molly
Hogg ran it in the early 1950s, I think she also ran it as a boarding house.
Previously c1935, she ran The Haymakers
at Chesterton. She was my godmother. This pub closed in 1959 and has now
been demolished. |
