From Peterborough Heritage:
An archaeological evaluation was undertaken at the former Royal Arms, 16 Eye Road, Dogsthorpe by Midland Archaeological Services in April 2015 prior to re-development of the site for housing. A lot of the site had been truncated by previous development. During the evaluation the foundations for the former pub buildings, cellar area and modern soakaways were observed. A colluvium layer was recorded over much of the site and had sealed a small linear but undated feature. A relic garden or plough soil was also recorded. The evaluation concluded that modern and post-medieval made ground, relic plough/garden soils, natural soils and an undated ditch terminus were present across the site area
