Jeffrey Northrup 1946/1958 My grandfather, Austin Sill-Perrin was the publican from my birth in 1946 until his death in 1957. I lived in the pub for a year from 1957 to 1958. My parents, Harold Northrup and Beryl Perrin Northrup, operated it for about a year after my grandfather’s death. My father was the licensed publican at the Grosvenor Hotel in Stalybridge from 1949 to 1954. I well remember helpin my grandmother tend bar for parties in the upstairs function room.
