A regular from 1986, very good friends
with previous owners. Took the pub on as a 2nd pub in 1994. In 2002 the
brewery sold the pub to the heritage group, enforced rules making it next to
impossible to earn a decent living from it. In 2000 due to the newspaper
shop next door being converted into flats with no sound proofing between us
and constant noise complaints from the new neighbours involving a noise
abatetment order onto the pub, killing what little hope of it surviving. I
sold up and moved to Spain. In the 10 years i was in Spain I'm still in
contact with my regulars, usually to go to friends funerals. I'm the only
living Rising Sun landlord. |
