Duke Of Lancaster

Date of photo: 1991

The Duke Of Lancaster was situated on Lancaster Road.
I was born in 1943 and lived at no 10 Lancaster Road next door but one to the pub. I spent many happy days playing with the pub landlords son Role ,I played football in the station entrance closing the gates as a goal and spending my paper round money in the sweet shop opposite. Great times.

Jennifer Ward 1947 onwards I was born in Lancaster Road opposite this pub in 1947. From the age of approximately 9years old I spent most weekends here. So upset to find that the pub is no more. My grandfather spent every evening in this pub for years. My mother and father had their wedding reception here also. It was such a huge part of our lives.
Simon Cohen 1996-1999 I played my first gig in the Duke around 1996 with our band Savile Row.
