The Jockey was situated at 31-33
Baldock Street. This pub closed in 2007. Previously known as The Red Cow to
the 1940s, it was changed at the behest of the Landlady. It then became the
Black Boy as that was the only spare sign at the brewery, then the Jockey in
1951 to commemorate Arctic Prince winning the Derby as the horse was trained
locally on Therfield Heath. |
