1966/1967 |
As a teenager, I approached the Landlord (Trevor, I think) for work as a
barman). I thoroughly enjoyed the work , with nearly all the customers
either locals, or employees of the nearby rubber works. On my Birthday,
I stood Trevor & the rest of the staff a celebratory round of
drinks.....
"How old are you, David?" he asked. "Eighteen", I replied. He fired me
on the spot. He'd never asked how old I was in my interview, when he
employed me.. |
