The Red Cow was situated at 38 Crib Street. This grade-II listed pub is now used as a nursery.

Listed building details:
House, later public house. C17, altered C19, restored and part rebuilt 1990. Timber-framed, with smooth render finish, old tiled roof, large red brick chimneystack with oversailing course and 4 pots shared with No.40 (qv). 2 storeys, ground floor has 1 triple light sash, first floor 1 single light sash, both modern replacements, with glazing bars, and flush set. On first floor small C17 wood mullioned window was exposed in 1990 restoration. Door recessed in reveal with slim architrave surround. 2 storey rear extension built 1990. Together with No.40, this was The Red Cow Public House during the C19, until the 1930s. Included for group value.
