Phoenix Arms

The Phoenix Arms was situated at 9 Albion Terrace. This pub was present by 1841.  It was rebuilt in 1965 and closed in 1997.  Now used as a community and cultural centre.
I remember this pub as a child before it was rebuilt in the early 60s. Mr Sid Wright was the landlord as far back as I can remember in the early sixties up until the 80s. It was taken over by others who I cant remember their names only one as Bernie. He was a cross channel ferry cook while he had the pub.
