Duke Of York

Duke Of York, Preston

The Duke Of York was situated at 80 Friargate. In 1983 this very small Lion pub was extended into the shop next door when it became vacant. When it re-opened months later it was called the Base and The Friars Gate amongst other names in the following 20 years or so. It closed and opened several times before becoming  a restaurant for the past few years.
