The King Street Tavern was situated on
Manchester Road. |
|
This Lion brewery pub closed c.2004 and was demolished
c.2007(see photo below). There is no trace of this fine building now. On a
historical note Manchester Road in the 1800's was called King Street, hence
the pub's name. |

I had my 18th do there 13th Septembern
1968 because I had just started my apprenticeship at BAC and my mate Ian
Simpson invited me, he waited on and his mother played accordion. Three of
us from Wesham went there and back on the bus. |
