In 1910 the innkeeper was Tom Cleminson and his
wife Mary. Tom was a well known former rugby league player whose career
spanned 1890-1901. He played for Broughton Rangers for that period except
for one season for Salford. He also played for Lancashire six times. In
March 7th, Mary found her husband dead upstairs. It was thought that he had
suffered a fit. |
