Coldwell Inn

The Coldwell Inn was situated on Back Lane. This was an 18th Century Inn located on the Colne to Halifax Packhorse route. It became notorious as a gambling venue in the early 1920's, resulting in many police raids. It was badly damaged by fire in October 1924 and remained derelict until the late 1970's when it was refurbished to become the present charity run Residential and Outdoor Activity Centre.
