The Old Pack Horse was situated at 246
Belgrave Gate. The original pub dated from c1539 and was rebuilt in 1904. It was closed and demolished in 1963 to make way for
road widening. A new pub, The Woodsman,
was built on the site. |

When I was attending Charles Keene College, we used to drink here at
lunchtime, underage if course. Most of the clientel were young lads. Not
the best atmosphere.. |
