The Jolly Sailor was situated at Scalp
End. This pub was acquired by Soames Brewery in 1938 and sold to Steward &
Patteson in 1949. Closed in 1955, it is now used as a private residence. |

|
A 19th century public house and probable
stables which were converted into residential use circa 1955. The main
building is of rectangular plan, constructed of brick and two storeys high
with a pitched pantile roof with gable brick chimeny stacks at either end.
The front elevation has three bays, the ground floor has a central doorway
flanked by a sash window at each side and the first floor has three sash
windows. |
