The Travellers Rest was situated at 119 Canwick Road. This pub closed in 2010 and has now been converted to flats.
Billy and Jean Crowder took the pub on in January 1979 from an Australian couple, alterations in the pub turned the Bar around and opened up the rear room as a pool room. The travellers rest a pub which didn’t allow travellers. They left in 1982.

I am the daughter of the “Australian couple“ who were tenants of the pub between 1977 and 1979. They, Pat and Paul Walker, were both English born, as was I. We immigrated to Australia in 1971, came back in 1977 but returned to Australia after short period in Lincoln. I initially occupied the rear bedroom of the accommodations upstairs looking out into the courtyard which had a coach house garage. I moved from this room to one of the front bedrooms following the sighting of a female Grey ghost. The regulars included my brother’s future brother-in-law, one of the Barrand brothers. I became aware of the pub’s closure when visiting Lincolnshire over the Bank holiday weekend.
