Kings Head

The Kings Head was situated at 761 High Road. One of the early Leyton pubs, standing beside what is now Leyton Green it was present by 1686.  By the 1820 the pub was the departure point for coaches from Leyton to London.  The last date I have seen for the pub was 1856 and it was said to have been mostly demolished by 1868, although one wall apparently lingered on into the 1920s.
