The Montague Arms was situated at 289 Queens
Road. This pub opened in the 1860s and closed in 2019. It was famous for its
eccentric decor, featuring taxidermy, a skeleton and a deep sea diving suit.
The pub became a cult music venue under Peter Hoyle, hosting big names such
as Shane McGowan and Nick Cave. |
