The Union Tavern was situated at 11 Bunton Street.
This pub closed in 2003 and has now been demolished. |
|
The Union Tavern used to do good beer and the
best pub lunch in Woolwich - it was always full. We used to go into
Woolworths and out the back door to the Union. Shame it went. |

Customer. Almost opposite The Union, in McBean Street was Woolwich
Polytechnic Boys School. When us scholars reached the 6th Form, we used
to spend lunchtimes in there (1970-72). After those dates, our Old Boys
Association used to hold their monthly meetings there up until about
1980. Great beer and friendly pub. |
