The Nottingham Castle was situated on Park Street and demolished in the 19th century. The Anchor Brewery, home to Barclay Perkins was built on the site, which was acquired by Courage in 1955, demolished in the early 1980s and replaced with a housing estate, commemorated today by a plaque.
