In the 50's it used to be packed, saloon bar with music Saturdays,
public and snug bar. It had a award winning garden at the back but
always locked to the public?? I used to stand outside every weekend
waiting for my parents,Harry was the name of the guy that had the
shellfish stool outside, Charly Freeman was the manager then. In the
60's I used it and they opened up the bar that was always shut during
the 50's |
