building details: |
Public house. Late C17 and C18/19. Coursed
limestone rubble with some brick dressings; plain-tile roofs with brick
gable-stacks. 3-unit through-passage plan. 2 storeys. 2 bays to right of
entrance have
renewed 3-light casements with 2-light windows over; entrance and windows in
bay to left have brick quoins and segmental arches, and the roof has a lower
pitch. Interior: Earlier part has chamfered and stopped beams spanning into
central cross-beam morticed for partition, and open fireplaces, one with
moulded chamfer-stops to the timber bressumer, inglenook and flanking winder
stair. |
