The Talkhouse was situated on Wheatley Road. This grade-II listed pub closed in December 2025. It was formerly known as The George.

Listed building details:
Public house. Late C17/early C18. Limestone rubble with squared quoins and timber lintels; old plain-tile and thatched roofs. L-plan. One storey plus attics. 2-window front has central door, concealed by C20 rubble porch, with, to right, a 3-light window below a 3-light gabled dormer and, to left, a projection altered at ground floor but retaining a rendered gabled upper section which may be timber framed, containing a 2-light casement. Single-storey range to left has a steep thatched roof. Right gable wall of main range has a projecting stone chimney and returns to slightly-later rear wing with small casements and a lateral stone and brick stack. Gabled dormers to rear of both ranges. Interior not inspected.
