The Robin Hood was situated at 101
Croydon Road at the junction with Elmers End Road. This pub closed c2002
and has now been demolished following a fire in 2006. An Aldi supermarket
has been built on the site. |

My Grandparents had the Robin hood before and
during the war. My father was brought up there.
There was apparently a very productive walnut tree in the back garden. The
sign bearing the Quinn name outside was actually W D Quinn
During the war my father liked to get back there as they always had a good
supply of roasts in spite of rationing.
My great aunt had The Dewdrop in Maple
Road Penge, I cannot remember the dates though, probably a similar time. |
